Hey, I was just thinking about that cause I saw a topic of yours at NWN! but I havent been confirmed yet in order to reply there. So, I'm glad to see it here!

Well, first that came in mind is Edward Bulwer-Lytton, one of my favorite.
But I'm unaware of all the above names you mentioned.

All of them are philosophers.Levinas and Haidegger are one of the hardest shits I have ever read, and I suppose lot of stuff there I havent understand.
Cioran is some negarive shit, romanian author that have lived in France, total recommendation from my side,I have read all his books that are translated in my language.
Kierkegaard is existential philosopher.

Interesting... Do you believe I should start with something specific from Cioran? I mean, they may be too complicated stuff and he may have something that could introduce him and be like an easy approach to his cosmos. Or not?

He is not hard as for example Levinas so you can start with any of books and be sure you will never in your life read anything more negative than Cioran..
I dont know english translation of his books,I have them in Serbian language.

I'm also into occult stuff, no use to mention the classics of practical magic.
And I love to read novels, fantasy and occult ones, at winter nights with poor light. Authors like Arthur Mahen and Aldgernon Blackwood. (Of course, Lovecraft, Poe, Eco are genious writers). Any suggestions?

about books... I have too many... nordic literature; portuguese and japanese literature are stuff I buy more, then of course classics and so on... kierkegaard I studied it and it was hard at first, right now I'd like to re-read Enten-Eller again. It's on my "to be read next"-list.
I read two McCarthy books in english, "Blood Meridian" & "No Country for Old Men". I liked the first one more.
I read Sartre and at the moment I'm reading a book by Svend Aage Madsen called "Finder Sted". Too bad he's not translated in italian... only a couple of books.
I also read Lunar Park by Bret Easton Ellis. After American Psycho, the best stuff he wrote. Some of the parts are boring, but I like the hidden and weird stuff, a culture driven by pills & fear...

Currently reading? Or next to start? I'm reading a greek writer's Atlantis - The archives of the Land of Posidon, heavenly architexture and the star of Sirius. A little hard book because he connects a lot of knowledges, about Mythologies, sacred geometry and maths, conspiracies, ancient's hidden knowledge etc... Sure I've missed a lot till now but definitely I'll keep it as my studies for the future.

Those came to mind as well. I also enjoyed Jungs - Seven Sermons and works by Blavatsky. As far as other stuff goes I recommend Graham Hancock and Andrew Collins.

Right now I am reading "Panzram: A Journal of Murder"

I have followed Panzram's life through the internet and literature for a long time...he personifies the true misanthrope.

Alfred Jules Ayer - Language Truth and Logic
I read it in German... the content is difficult enough.

michael crichton - eaters of the dead

one of if not my favourite books of all time
the movie 13th warrior was based on this book

it's based on the oldest known scriptures about vikings written in 910AM.
apparently the script's authenticity was confirmed by comparing the villages/towns which were described to the locations when they were excavated
I love Michael Crichton, though I haven't read that book. Just finished reading Let the Right One In by John Ajvide Lindqvist. An enjoyable read.

Now I don't have much time for reading but during Summer I read some great books, one was called MX, same for Greeks as AD, it is about the life of monks of mount Athos, an ancient community of orthodox monks very deserved in Balcans and general in Orthodox christian church, the author thesis was opposite to these guys as not reliable guys who do everything for money etc. Author called Aleksakis...The shit is that this Autumn here we have a political scandal with goverment sell very cheap land to these monks etc Smile

Other one was also in Greeks was about the releationship of Greek Orthodox church and goverment, it also covered interesting parts of religious psychology, religion's history and finally analized the neoorthodox doctrines.

I read also one book written by a well known German marxist author called Kaoutchky if writes it correctly, he staudied the heretics in central Europe at time of Reformation(1520-1630), recognisining some communistic elements. Very interesting book to cover another side of history and also to know some facts not that known widely like execution practices during the reformation, some cults created during the period (I am still very curious for a cult mentioned there in Bohemia called the caves Dwellers that practiced extreme rituals etc).

I bought a used book from a japanese author called MURAKAMI RYU.
If someone is familiar with the movie Tokyo Decadence he's the guy who wrote the novel and shot the movie.
The book I found was "In the Miso Soup" a meeting of a young japanese guy who organizes sex tours for foreigner business men or tourists and an american weird guy... everything is fine until the japanese guy notices a 10000 yen with money on it, just after he read about a young highschool girl beheaded, dismembered and left in a sewet without arms and legs.
(Beheaded, Dismembered and left in a sewer . could sound like a C.C. song...)
Of course you might think the american is weird... but much more interesting is the way the japanese life is shown... thumbs up, even if I read it in two hours...
