What is it like in Europe?

been drinking since yesterday and everyone else is passed out

I spent a few years in Germany, Holland, and Belgium...the Benelux region, if you will. Germany was kind of boring,..at least where I was. It was all farmers and techno clubs. Holland was fucking cool. No shortage of marijuana...lost of places to to drink and listen to metal. Belgium was definitely the best. It was a short train ride to Luxembourg, which boasted a very nice little metal shop in the main market district. I ate some great food and drank some great wine. The quality of people surpasses this USA by far.

How do the people in these countries truly feel about Americans?

I've been to places where they don't look kindly on tourists, which I can understand, and this is why I don't visit countries where I do not speak the native language well enough to get by, and in Germany I witnessed several Americans getting treated poorly for acting like tourists and being asshats, which is not to say all Germans are that way, but I try to avoid touristy areas for this reason mainly.

I don't think you can just come up with one answer to "what is it like in europe?" because it depends on where you are, not every country/city/area in europe is the same, just as not every area of the US is the same... As for metal scenes, it is like anywhere else, it depends on the area you're in.

Also, in my experience anyway, the bars in austria make red bull & vodka drinks MUCH stronger than any i've had in bars in the US. This is why I can't recall much about my time in Austria.

A lot of countries dont use measures for spirits. In the UK the standard shot is 35ml I think. It's larger in the US but in other countries they don't use a measure, they just pour it straight fron the bottle. I remember a few years back when I was in Spain I was constantly getting what must have been about 3 shots per drink when just asking for a single....messy nights haha.

yeah usually it's even 40ml but it's common to pour stuff into cocktails just by eye... eyes on the glass and eye contact with the customer
it's also different from place to place... some bars try to rip you off, making you pay a lot for a soda and few drops of liquour, others just get you drunker and drunker.

Most of the bars I've been to here (US) pour it straight from the bottle too, it's just that they are fucking stingy with it and dont' give you enough alcohol. I had 3 red bull and vodkas in some bar in Vienna and I was completely wasted, some dude had to more or less carry me back to the hostel, the glasses were big and they were mostly vodka. Hells yes. But usually, in my experience in most normal (i.e., not very glamorous) bars a drink will have approx. 2 oz. of vodka (or whatever) in it.

nah shots are 25ml down here
