I wanted to see "fido" but I couldn't find it in dvd retail shops. it seemed like a "straight to dvd or vhs" movie...
so far, I laugh my ass off everytime I watch "Shaun of the dead"

yes i believe it was a straight to DVD release but if you can find it, it is an excellent satire i was very impressed

i highly recommend this movie, but if you wtch it, i recommend watching Nosferatu (1922) first

Dawn of the Dead remake was rather crap. Still enjoyable though. Haven't seen any other remake.

One superb movie I saw this year was REC.

just watched it, the story was good and i liked the special effetcs but the over acting of some of the actors did really put me off

I preferred other movies like hot fuzz and run fatboy run
but i think big nothing was probably my favourite pegg movie

I couldnt find torrents for those pupi avati films unfortunately, though there were some other ones on pirate bay

Just watched Fido, interesting little movie, never seen a zombie movie like it and doubt I ever will again.
Though I guess it is difficult to refer to it as a zombie movie as opposed to a comedy.

I was trying to remember the name of a zombie movie set in Australia or new zeeland where an asteroid crashes down into earth causing zombies to rise or somerthing along those lines. anyone have any ideas?

Basically I can't stand anything put out by hollywood, no matter what the genre, I can't stand most comedy unless it's something like Braindead, and I watch mostly horror and exploitation.

I started downloading trailers and movies for everyone's recommendations and you've got some weird recommendations lady... didnt find an english subtitled version of der blechtrommel but read the synopsis on imdb.. i am intrigued how ever.

When I saw gates of hell it was called city of the livingdead, still a bit of a disappointing film in the long run i thought, but worth watching to see the "drill through the head" part

And yes Romero's trilogy is what I meant, forgive my ignorance thinking it would have the same title worldwide.

This trilogy is cult. Worship Night of the Living Dead.

Land of the Dead is also gross, not as good though. Let's not talk about the remakes. Diary of the Dead is sort of boring, but meh, decent.

hells yes. I live right near the cemetery the beginning was filmed in (and the mall dawn of the dead was in). Good stuff. Not too fond of the remakes at all though.

English title is just The Tin Drum I think, but I've only seen the movie and read the book in German. It is really fucking weird, not a horror movie, but just weird as fuck. It has midgets, nazis, midget sex, nazi midget sex, etc lol

lol yeah, Romero did most his stuff in Pittsburgh/Monroeville/Evans City, PA. and I lived right in Pittsburgh for years. i probably have photos somewhere.

not bad it was an interesting take on the zombie theme, the only zombie movie that comes to mind which i could compare it to is army of darkness in the sense that I look at it as a comedy and not a zombie flick. i could easily see this zombie spoof being a classic in people's eyes

I watched Dawn of the dead remake again the other day, I dont really mind it to be honest, just didnt like the running zombies

YES! I picked that one up on a whim and was blown away at how good it was... a lot more graphic than I expected, original plot, and solid acting...
